Montclair State University: Jed Leshowitz Recital Hall

The Details

Included in the renovation and expansion of the former Chapin Hall into the new home of the John Cali School of Music is a new 235-seat recital hall.

It includes acoustics features that can be adapted to enhance solo, instrumental, voice, jazz and electronic as well as featuring state-of-the-art audio and video capabilities. The venue has sufficient volume to allow for longer reverberation time if desired and the adjustable acoustic features then provide varying degrees of musical clarity as desired. Adjustable acoustics include vertically moving acoustics banners and an adjustable ceiling reflector. The recital hall serves the School by giving the students a much-deserved competitive performance venue on par with some of the best music schools in the country.
